The arrow is a surprise despite Era being well aware she had company. A welcome surprise, but a surprise all the same. The troll is momentarily distracted, though the downside to this is that it's much more angry. The upside to that is it means the troll will be more careless and leave more openings.

Emeraldd throws a whirlwind at their target. In conjunction with the well-placed arrow it gives Era enough time to perform a Royal Authority combination; a powerful sword attack that, when she angles it upward, punctures through the troll's fleshy belly and up into its chest.

The blood is as disgusting as ever. She's momentarily distracted when some gets into her eyes, allowing one of the troll's flailing arms to crash into her unprotected side. Era lands nearby on her shoulder harshly enough that she can't withhold a wince. She will have to equip one of her healing weapons after this.
