text; daemon: shebad
[None of this is familiar to Kurt.
The last thing he remembers was a misstep in the Danger Room, falling toward (possible) certain doom and then a portal. Waking in an ocean wasn't something he'd planned for, gaining this strange thing called a 'daemon' isn't either, but most of all: he's certainly going to do everything in his power to avoid all this rain.
Seeking shelter wherever possible? There won't be any hesitation on this guy's end.]
so, is this downpour normal here?
i've been to places where it rains a lot, but honestly, this almost seems a little ridiculous.
[Guess he's never been to Washington.]
oh, and if anyone could give me more detailed information about this place, i'd greatly appreciate it. the map's helpful, yet ... [It's not a complaint, honestly!]
this is just definitely not new york
nor any place that i'm familiar with
which prompts me to ask: if i were to say 'mutant,' what is the first thing that would come to mind for you?

oh no i'm dying already ;dfaskjl
an interesting image, to say the least.
no, i've never seen a 'mutant' of that sort. [Thankfully is what's left unsaid.]
xistentia, huh? don't think it's the weirdest name i've heard.
i wouldn't be opposed to help, but i'll warn you now: i'm not your average looking person, so don't be surprised when you see me.
no subject
neither have i, but you know maybe some day
idek what average lookin means anyway. i won't be surprised
[ He says, before he knows Kurt is an actual blue guy. ]
send a map point to my daemon. we'll be right there! what name do i ask for?
no subject
maybe someone who's not [er, well, should he really say it?]
blue
[Kurt's always been proud of his skin-color; no reason for him to change now.
And Wyatt will get a little ping, signaling the teleporter's location.] there, i think i sent it? oh, just 'kurt' should be fine.
no subject
blue, for real? that's so cool
[ He's already on his way. It doesn't take that long to get there, and then Wyatt picks Kurt out immediately. Grinning, he jogs over. In fairness, he's also pretty easy to spot; his daemon, Hunterd, is an enormous muscular wolf which is almost as tall as Wyatt, being more than twice the size of a normal wolf. Both boy and wolf daemon stop beside Kurt; the latter huge, pure black, and panting as though it's a real animal, and the former dressed in scruffy jeans and a t-shirt, with hair that makes him look like he's been pulled sideways through a tree. ]
Kurt? [ Not really a question. ] Hey! I'm Wyatt, I'm your tourguide. The big guy's Hunterd. He's friendlier than he looks.
no subject
He's sorely mistaken.Instead of responding to the text, though, he waits beneath the cover of his red jacket, wild irises darting this way and that. When someone comes jogging over, his shoulders tense, iridescent eyes widening at the sight of such a large wolf. He gives the canine a once-over then averts his attention to Wyatt, attempting to swallow down the lump forming in his throat. How ridiculous that a simple meeting seems to put him on edge; he's doing a good job keeping the anxiety under wraps, aside from the flick of his tail.]
Ja, that's me, [he confirms, straightening his somewhat hunched posture beneath his makeshift cover.] Nice to meet you, Wyatt. [A quick glance toward the daemon, head inclined in greeting.] Quite the wolf you are, Hunterd.
no subject
I mean, he's okay. He looks like my dad, except less fucking hyperactive. I'm way more impressive when I turn.
[ That is probably not true. He peers over Kurt's shoulder, obviously interested. ]
Bro, your tail is so cool. Can you like, grab things with that?
no subject
Turn? [His brow furrows, head tilting to the side in thought.] Wait, [a pause, eyes widening with realization.] You can become a wolf?
[Sparing a glance over his shoulder, the blue boy nods and slithers the tail around to gesture vaguely at the air with the spade.] Thank you. Sure can! I've also been able to hang from it and lift people.
no subject
[ Kurt is the only blue one, though. He definitely looks more different than most people Wyatt knows, but that's no bad thing. It's cool to be unique. Wyatt's grin gets even wider at the thought of what the tail can do, and he points at Kurt. ]
Dude, that is so cool. You think you could lift me? I'm not that heavy.
[ He says, though his werewolf gene has blessed him with considerably more muscle than most kids his age. He's not exactly light. ]
no subject
[Being pointed at is usually considered rude, but Kurt stiffens, eyes widening like he's done something wrong. Once Wyatt confirms with his next statement that there's no problem, he relaxes marginally, fangs gleaming and his chest puffing with pride.]
I could certainly try, although no promises. It's not something I've done often.
no subject
[ Wyatt waves his hand? Brushing that story off for another time. ]
Back home there's a lot of us. And vampires, too, since my pack lives in their kingdom, which...is also complicated. Anyways, lift me, bro! I'm all yours.
[ Wyatt lifts his arms up, implying Kurt should put his tail around his waist. ]
lil bit of powerprose
Okay, [he concludes.] Another time, then.
[This all sounds like some sort of book he should be reading and yet, here he stands, in the presence of an actual werewolf when he'd donated blood to a vampire not long before.] Whenever you want to explain, and if you'd like to. I'd also love to hear more about your world.
[Once Wyatt raises his arms, the azure-skinned boy steps forward, bracing his feet shoulders-width apart. Then, his tail moves around, slithers into a secure position around his new acquaintance's waist.] Here goes nothing! [Which is as much of a warning for Wyatt, since he begins to lift the werewolf off his feet with surprising ease. It's no different than that moment he'd lifted Angel; except, his tail definitely isn't around a neck this time around.
A reminder that ends up making him falter, the trunk of muscle slackening, his expression creasing with anxiety. He catches himself quickly enough, readjusts the hold, then raises Wyatt a good foot and a half off the ground.]
no subject
Look ma, no hands! [ Breaking into laughter, he gives Kurt's tail a gentle pet. ] Man, that's awesome! You almost got me too, I thought you were gonna drop my ass.
[ It genuinely is impressive; Kurt's tail is thin but strong. He could probably swing himself around with this thing, monkey style. That is absolutely what Wyatt would be doing if he could. ]
Okay! Set me down, and I'll tell you whatever you wanna know. After that, I owe you all the questions you want.
this a good place to fade?
Oh, [he states.] No, I [pause] I wouldn't let that happen. If my tail had slipped, I'd have caught you.
[There have been times when he's done that, actually! Being a circus performer — a high-flying artist, at that — has given him a lot of freedom to play with. One day, he'll have to show Wyatt some tricks of the trade.]
Sounds great! [And so, he does, carefully lowering Wyatt then loosening the tail before letting it slither away.] I hope you're ready because I have quite a few.
