[None of this is familiar to Kurt.

The last thing he remembers was a misstep in the Danger Room, falling toward (possible) certain doom and then a portal. Waking in an ocean wasn't something he'd planned for, gaining this strange thing called a 'daemon' isn't either, but most of all: he's certainly going to do everything in his power to avoid all this rain.

Seeking shelter wherever possible? There won't be any hesitation on this guy's end.]

so, is this downpour normal here?
i've been to places where it rains a lot, but honestly, this almost seems a little ridiculous.

oh, and if anyone could give me more detailed information about this place, i'd greatly appreciate it. the map's helpful, yet ... [It's not a complaint, honestly!]

which prompts me to ask: if i were to say 'mutant,' what is the first thing that would come to mind for you?

text. a demigod's bane. the letters swirl a little for nico before he can read them properly and then because he's not afraid of showing his face ( and it's easier than typing with dyslexia ), nico turns on the video feed for his response. everything about him is dark. from his black hair ( styled in an undercut ) and black eyes to his black clothes. his skin, however, is exceptionally pale and there are perpetual, permanent dark circles under his eyes. features he's had thanks to the life he's led. ]

It's not normally this rainy. It might have something to do with D.E.S.T.I.N.Y, but I'm not positive. Just... you should know that if you get wet, you might end up sharing memories with someone who touches you.

[ his lips twist in a frown and he shrugs. ]

You're a very long way from New York, much less America. And I don't know anything about mutants other than stuff I've read in comic books.

Had this been a place he was familiar with, little Blue might've been less nervous about showing his face on the network, but everything and everyone are entirely new to him. The male that pops up on the screen appears human enough; his dark eyes are ringed with circles and the all black ensemble is peculiar, although not enough to scream 'metahuman' of any kind.

A niggling voice at the back of his mind tells him to stop being so paranoid. For the moment, though, he ignores it.]

good thing i'm doing everything within my power to keep dry, then.
i'd rather not have anyone be saddled with my memories

[ something akin to the ghost of a smirk quirks at the corner of nico's lips as he raises a brow. more text. okay, so maybe this guy has something to hide. nico's never been the type to pry too deep, so after a few seconds of his eyes going crossed to read the reply, he bites his lip and nods. ]

Yeah, it happened to me once already. Not my finest moment. [ he blows out a puff of air that ruffles the bangs of his undercut. ] So keeping dry is probably for the best. Some of my memories are... pretty dark.

[ but that's neither here nor there, so nico waves it off with a gesture of his hand. ]

But mutants- I mean, they might be? They're kinda like superheroes sometimes. I guess in an alternate universe, they could be like demigods are in my world.

[Frankly, the only thing Kurt has to hide is his appearance and with his current state, it's not like he can't use video. He's decently hidden in his getup, so for Nico's sake, it's safe to assume that he should probably be using video.

Once the device has been switched over, a pair of twinkling ruby-red irises peek out from beneath a too large hood, briefly narrowing then dilating, like they need to adjust to the new feed. So far, this guy's been pretty straightforward with him; the mentioning of the not-so-great memories are what finally makes him loosen the scarf he'd been holding around his nose and mouth.

He allows the fabric to hang about his neck, camera pulling back to reveal the elaborately scarred blue face.]

Superheroes? [he queries, curiosity blatant in those iridescent eyes.] I'm training to become something like that. Sort of. [Except, he's more interested in what Nico mentioned before.] What is a 'demigod' in your world?

[ well, the guy isn't exactly what nico was expecting, but these days, he's not even sure if he should expect anything particular at all. he's seen and experienced so much between events in his world and the wide variety of people in eudio that kurt's features don't startle him or make him shy away. instead, he merely blinks, more curious than anything else. ]

I can see why you were doing the text thing. Sorry to make you switch; I've got bad dyslexia.

It's a demigod thing. I'm a demigod. Half-human, half god. In my world, mortals don't notice us, but I've known demigods that are kind of like superheroes. [ jason and percy come to mind; jason's practically a blond superman anyway ] You know. Superman, Batman. Unless they don't have those in your world. We train too, to control our powers and protect ourselves and mortals from monsters or evil gods.

[In response to Nico's apology, Kurt shakes his head, maybe somewhat too vigorously. He ends up having to lift one of his tri-fingered hands to smooth his bangs back into place before speaking again, words heavily accented with German descent.] If I'd have known that, I would have switched sooner for you. Besides, it's not like the hesitation with revealing myself is your fault.

[Old habits die hard, though.] I'm anxious about people's reactions toward my appearance. There are always those who might [pause] attack first, then ask questions later.

[This time, instead of gesturing with his head, he makes an odd hand motion, twisting it round and round just out of sight.] No, I've never heard any of those names, but what I've gathered from your information is that 'mutants' and 'demigods' might be similar in some aspects— especially with the power control and keeping enemies at bay.

[ german. that's interesting, but nico doesn't inquire about it, rather storing the information away for a later time. instead, he merely nods in understanding to what kurt says and shrugs. ] It's an annoyance, so I appreciate it. And you've got nothing to hide here. There are all types of people. Vampires, humans, demigods [ he gestures at himself ], fae. Basically, normal humans are a rarity.

Which means I guess you're a mutant? Never heard of anything like that, but if you have a secret place where you train, then we're not much different at all. There are three of us demigods here: me, my boyfriend who's name is Will Solace, and a friend named Leo Valdez. You'll fit right in.

[His head bobs in response to Nico's gratitude, although the mention of humans being sparse is somewhat of a surprise.] Really? [Hrmmm. Maybe he won't need to be as wary as he thinks he will. Which means — with such a high presence of non-humans — that his using the text on the network was most likely unnecessary.] That's ... a bit of a relief.

And ja, I'm a mutant. [If the blue skin, fangs, tail, and wild eyes didn't give that away.] My secret place to train is beneath my school. I'd say that counts, but you know what they say about 'assuming.' [A brief gleam of too pointy canines,] Well, this certainly wasn't the kind of welcome I was expecting. I like it!

My name's Kurt, by the way. Unless you'd rather exchange codenames? Then it would be 'Nightcrawler.' [Pause.] Except, that might not be a thing where you come from.

[What was that about 'assuming' earlier?]

Beneath a school, really? That sounds kinda awesome. [ a grin. nico's favorite place is underground so he's sure he'd fit in there. but it's the offer of exchanging codenames makes him laugh a bit and he shakes his head. it's definitely not something where he comes from. though he's a special case. ]

No, we don't have codenames. [ a chuckle as his lips curl in a smirk. ] Though I do have a few titles due to my powers. King of Ghosts is one.

Really! [he pipes, enthusiasm far more apparent in his demeanor now.] It's called the 'Danger Room.' Not really leaving much to the imagination, but— [Shrug. Can't really blame them for trying.]

Ooo, King of Ghosts? That's quite a title, your majesty. [And yes, he's even bowing toward the camera.]
