"Blair? Blaird?... What the hell's going on?!"
[This was too damn weird... Marcus felt his leather jacket, a little bit more full than usual and squeezed it out. With that, Marcus squeezed his prized leather jacket out and carried it on his shoulder.] </small>
Can anybody tell me where I am at?"

[He also offers the man a hand. He has no way of knowing that Marcus is unnaturally heavy, or he'd probably think better of it.]

"About 2023 Post Apoc Earth, terminators everywhere ripping people up."
[ Marcus nods and shakes Barclay's hand. ]
"Barclay, huh."
no subject
Yes. Barclay. My great-grandfather was Scottish.
Come on. Let's get away from the rest of this wreckage-- [he motions at some people hauling the remains of a boat out of the sea.] Your daemon will approach you soon. It'll be your 'personal assistant' in this world. Don't be afraid. It might look like anything, from a pocket electronic device to an enormous animal. But it'll speak with you, and you will know it for what it is. [A beat.] There is some chance it will look like one of these 'Terminators.' But I must emphasize, you oughtn't attack it.

"Marcus, where the fuck had you been? You scared me for a second.."
Marcus crossed his arms "Who would of known you of all people would end up as a personal assistant to me, Blair?"
Blaird shook her head and smirked "Don't push it, Marcus."
Marcus turned "Oh, Barclay, this is Blaird.... Or Blair, she's from my world."

Oh, the name clarifies it.
"A pleasure to meet you, Blaird," says Barclay, who awkwardly extends a hand to shake the woman's. Then he reaches to offer Marcus the same salutation. "There's a vehicle coming to bring you to the city, if you like. You must be very tired and concerned. The first thing you'll want to do is inquire on the network for others that you might know from your homeworld. It could bring you comfort."

Marcus nodded "Thanks, not often do we see the end of the world pass when it comes from a time when it's almost literally the end of the world."
