but it keeps eating at him, and eating at him, and isn't there a saying about better late than never? so he double-checks his appearance and clears his throat before turning to his daemon.

I've wanted to say hi, so here I go. Hi. My name is Haneul. You can also call me Han - no one ever has, but I wouldn't mind it. I've been here for a couple of weeks. So far this has all been...well, life goes on, doesn't it?

[until it doesn't, but he's trying to make friends and reminding people that they die isn't a very good way of going about it.

[ Leo clearly didn't check his appearance before he turned on the video option on his daemon to respond. He doesn't use video often and usually talks to text his messages so he doesn't have to think about anything. This is a whim.

He's greasy and his hair is curly and wild, out of place as usual and he's definitely working on some kind of gadget just off screen. ]

Well, I'd say the one thing I hope to do is become immortal.

[ It's not really true but Leo doesn't often speak honestly about his wants or his feelings. It's a defense mechanism. It's easier to pretend to be prideful and stupid and happy all the time and to make light of literally everything. ]

Why?

[he can sort of understand it. no one wants their time to be up. there's always something that they wanted to do, something they wanted to say.]

Are you afraid to die? Is that it?

Not really.

[ He kind of regrets video mode but he gives a goofy grin. ]

The world would just be devastated at the loss of me.

It would. Both those who knew you and those who never got the chance.

[ He could try but then he'd have to share his secrets! ]

Right? I'm just too awesome for the world to lose and so I gotta find some immortality.

Where would you look first? Old books might be a good place to start.

Ugh...books...

[ He gives a slightly disgusted look.

Reading is hard especially since most books aren't in ancient Greek but even when they are he just doesn't stay still like that. ]

[haneul gives him a sympathetic smile. he doesn't particularly mind books, it's more a matter of time management for him. in hindsight, he really shouldn't have let his audible subscription expire.]

But if immortality was easy, everyone would have it - well, those who want it.

I guess... but there has to be another option!
