EMPLOYMENT AMA

Worst Job(s) Held: I'd say 'Gladiator' but that wasn't really a job since I wasn't the one getting the fight winnings. L A M E. So, I'm gonna have to go with working at a hostess club. And for those of you not in the know, that's a job where women are rented by (usually middle-aged) men for an evening. You pretend to be their girlfriend or wife or mistress or whatever. It could be fun, but most of the time was just kind of sad.

Best Job(s) Held: Roadie. DJ at Pandemonium. Anything that had to do with music, I was all about. Also, I really liked waitressing even for as thankless as it could be at times.

Fantasy Job(s): DJ was pretty much it. A pilot, I guess, would be awesome since I've always wanted to be able to fly.

Current Job(s): Unemployed bum. Dog watcher? I have eight, someone's got to look after them.

well, it's a thing with wolves. pack and all that.
don't worry, it's kind of new for me too. but in a good way.

Magnus and Alec both helped me through a lot.

[ That's the weirdest part of all of this; that Magnus and Alec were in that other place for a whole year without him. That Alec is technically two years older than him now. That he's missed so much of their lives, a part that this girl got to see. ]

[ To be fair, there's a lot of their lives Rose didn't see beforehand. And vice versa. But... she gets it. It can be strange, knowing you've missed part of someone's life so important to you. It's how she feels a little about Vanyel spending time in Tamriel without her. ]

no, i'm... similar to werewolves but. I'm what's called a yokai. I'm basically a wolf made of ki from another world. I can look human, too!

the worst demon to ever demon, Jace. It's okay. Besides, she'd grown used to wariness and general dislike of her kind before Eudio. It might have been good for her in seeing that there are some places in the multiverse where that doesn't have to be, but... She's not going to be surprised if there are some where it still is. ]

The word 'hunter' is still a little scary to me, but
I know Alec. I know you guys don't hurt creatures like me unless we give you reason to and I don't plan to, so. It's cool.
Also, y'know, he's married to a warlock so that says a lot too on how you guys probably aren't like the hunters from my home world.

I am unfamiliar with much of what you have described. What is a roadie? And a DJ?

What are the names of your dogs, and what kind of canine are they? I most familiar with wolf pups, but I doubt the dogs of yours I have met previously are wolves.

A roadie is someone who follows bands (a group that plays music) around the country. I helped them set up stage, sell T-shirts, fetch coffee... That kind of stuff. A DJ is short for 'disc jockey' and basically we mix different songs and types of music together to make it more fun.

Apollo is my deamon but he was (is?) my dog, a Golden Retriever.
Blaze is a Growlithe.
Robin and Maurice are twin Leonbergers.
Marshmallow is an Akita.
And the the remaining three are Huskies but they don't have any names because their owner never gave them any and I guess I'm trying to honor him that way.

I do not know any of those types of dogs, but they are beautiful if I am remembering correctly. You have given reason for not naming your Huskies. What is the meaning behind the names of your other companions?

[ That almost makes Jace laugh. They aren't like the hunters from her world? She'd take that back if she knew Valentine. Or the Clave.

Or if she knew everything Jace himself had done. 'You don't hurt creatures like me unless we give you reason', she says. He wishes that were true. He wishes he could even say it was true for him. It's not. ]

You had problems with hunters in your world?

[ On one hand, that's disheartening. On the other, she can almost understand because the supernatural aren't always the friendliest bunch themselves. Still. ]

Hunters from my world liked to stab or shoot first and ask questions later. Or just not ask them at all.
Didn't matter to them that I was just trying to live my life, I had a bounty on my head and that meant I'd done something wrong at some point to deserve it.

I... made some mistakes, I admit, but only out of self-defense. Only did what I felt like I had to in order to survive.
Apparently that doesn't count though if you're a 'monster.'

[ That strikes more of a nerve than she knows. Calling them monsters. That's Valentine's words all over again. Jace knows exactly the kind of hunter she was dealing with. The thought of it makes him feel sick. ]

And sure.
I killed the man who ran the fighting ring that I was a gladiator for.
I wasn't a fighter by choice, mind you, which probably puts into context why I killed him.
But he was important. His death meant the loss of a lot of money for a lot of people. Humans get pretty upset about money, apparently, and wanted me dead for it.

Apollo is the name of a god of the sun. Since he's a 'golden' dog it seemed fitting. Robin and Maurice are named after a musical group from my home. Blaze is a Growlithe - a dog that breathes fire - so I named him accordingly. Marshmallow just looks like a roasted marshmallow to me, so... that's the reason for his name. I actually inherited him from his previous owner, who liked the name I gave him so much he kept it.

Maybe you could hand out noise cancelling headphones at the door.

I am nowhere near as talented as Jehantel, but perhaps one day I can play you a song he taught me.
