Guess I have a few people to apologize to. Sorry I'm late. By the way, I think I'm going to throw a party. Someone's birthday got missed and I want to make it up to him. Thing is, I'm not great at this kind of thing, so... suggestions are appreciated.

And I guess I should say who I am, considering this isn't "home." [ meaning, eudio. ] I'm Nico di Angelo. Son of Hades. And this- [ the feed jostles. ] -is Quothed.

What, is your dad gonna spring up and slit my throat again if I do? [ He replied wickedly, then leaned against the window frame so he could give a quick peck to Nico's sweet lips. ]

You're lucky I adore you, because if I didn't I'd be telling you what a stupid idea a birthday party in this hellhole is.

He could try, but I'd stop him. [ purred against vex's lips as he's kissed. he might not actually be capable of stopping his godly father, but the fae form... nico likes to think he'd take him down with ease. especially if he came after someone as important to him as vex. ]

He waited for me, Vex. I owe it to him. Besides, I thought you liked throwing parties. It could even be here on the beach.

Mm, my hero. [ Then he gave Nico another kiss, because he had lips that just wouldn't quit, and that purr made a shiver run down his spine. Sexy, sexy hellspawn. ]

He waited for you? What else was he supposed to do? [ Vex said, as if he hadn't thought of springing off the mortal coil a few times since he lost Mark. File it under: Things He Would Never Admit. ] Oh, you know me, any excuse for one. This place just hasn't made me feel very... festive.

[ reaching a hand up to cup vex's cheek, nico brushed his lips across the fae's jaw. he knew how much the mesmer must've been hurting without his husband and sympathy shown in his eyes as he gazed at him. ]

I know. Listen, we can make it something quiet and small or as big and loud as you want. Think of it as also being my thanks to you for watching out for him. I know you both have been lonely.

[vexy]

[ The sympathy was difficult to see because he was still in the 'denial' phase of his mourning and didn't want to see anything that reminded him of his loss. As such, he closed his eyes and leaned lightly into Nico's hand. ]

I hung onto him a few times. Y'don't mind, yeah? [ He paused before he asked quietly. ] Y'don't mind if I do it again sometime? If he'll have me. If you'll both have me. [ Because it was hell sleeping on his own. ]

If it's you, of course I don't mind. I can't imagine anyone else I'd want him to be with besides me, especially if I'm not around.

[ a small kiss is bestowed to vex's brow. ]

I'll ask him. You know for sure, caro mio, that I'm not opposed.

[ He reached up to cup Nico's face in return, gently brushing his lips against the bridge of his nose, then his forehead. It was his way of saying 'thank you' without actually saying it. It was too difficult to articulate those sorts of things right now. ]

Want some breakfast?

[ smiling at vex, he nods, a soft noise escaping him each time he's kissed. his way of saying "you're welcome" without words. ]

Sure. What's on the menu?

[vexy]

Banana pancakes. [ It was easy to get bananas when you lived on the beach. They were also easy to make for a fae who wasn't all that fond of cooking. ] Coconut shavings are optional. Get your sexy bum in here.

[ One more kiss and then he moved away to resume his work. He had most of them done, there was a stack of six resting on a plate on the counter, but he had some more batter so he poured out the rest in the pan to cook one big one. ]

[ within the blink of an eye, nico's inside and shuffling around for an extra plate. the food smells delicious, especially given how little he's eaten lately. of course, he's gone without food before, but that had been a long time before eudio. ]

These smell great, Vex. I didn't know you could cook.

[vexy]

'ello gorgeous. [ He said once Nico showed up. ] Yeah, I don't enjoy it but I can do it alright. Doesn't take much to mash up some bananas into some flour and eggs, anyway. Oh, there's coconut milk in the fridge if you want any.

[ He had a pretty nicely stocked fridge too; crabs, shrimp, eggs, more bananas, various herbs and greenery, and of course the aforementioned pitcher of coconut milk. His door was stocked with what looked like beer, but the labels were in some alien language. ]

Take whatever you want, the shavings are in a bowl over here... you could squeeze some lime on 'em if you want to. [ He waved at the counter where those items were. Of course there was no syrup. ]

[ serving himself as he pleased, nico puttered around while trying to keep out of vex's way. ]

Loki tried to teach me a few things, but Will's the better cook than I am. I lived quite a few years underground or in places without food, which meant living on Happy Meals.

[vexy]

I bet he did. [ There was a naughty chuckle in his throat after he said that, because of course Vex was going to take that in a dirty way. ]

There's nothing happy about those meals. The chips are alright, though. [ He'd give them that, so long as they were fried well and not soggy. He flipped his giant cake with a snap of his wrist, catching it easily in the pan. ]

I remember I used to have to eat a lot of shite over an open flame, nothing ever cooked properly. Or the times I was on the run, I just ate whatever I could. Eugh. [ He shuddered at some of those memories. ] Give me a takeout menu any day.

[ rolling his eyes at the chuckle, nico stuffs a large bite in his mouth. as the flavor floods his senses, he moans. it's good. and he can't help expressing that. when he's finished chewing and swallowing, he responds. ]

I never minded them, nor do the dead. Better than animal blood any day.

[ another bite and he continues, mouth full. ]

Besides, it's hard to get takeout in the Underworld.

[ And naturally, since Nico moaned, Vex's eyes were fixated on him in a way that looked far more hungry for the young man than the pancake he was cooking. If he wasn't careful it was going to start to overcook- but how could he be careful when that gorgeous fellow was constantly tempting him?! ]

Mm... yeah.

[ Did he even hear what he said? Cue smoking pancake in 3... 2... 1... ]

[ it was the smell of burning pancake that made nico jerk his head up, nose scrunched in dislike. he hadn't meant to distract vex that way, but apparently his powers of attraction were stronger than he thought. ]

Vex! The pancake.

[vexy]

Augh! Bloody-- [ He yelled as he quickly grabbed the pan and moved it away from the hot burner. He turned it to try and dislodge the pancake from the surface, but it was stuck so he had to try and peel it out with a fork. Muttering grumpily to himself, he finally managed to get it to flop out onto his plate- exposing the side that was now even darker than his eye color. ]

Blasted sexy hellspawn-- [ He continued to grumble as he stared at the disaster, then he was hit by an idea. With fork in hand he walked over to the table and leaned over with a smirk, attempting to distract Nico with a kiss as he tried to cut into his pancake stack to steal a bite.

Sure, he could have asked, but it was more fun this way. ]

[ thoroughly thrown off by vex's behavior, nico stared for a few moments as vex tried to dislodge his pancake, but when that proved to be a disaster ( that poor, poor pancake ), nico couldn't help but crack up laughing. the kiss he was given was pressed against smiling lips and nico was indeed distracted. but only long enough for vex to cut a slice, prompting another laugh from nico. ]

You could've said you wanted some of mine, you know! What got you so distracted?

[ he knew the answer if "bloody sexy hellspawn" was anything to go by. ]

Mm... the way you moaned. Reminded me of how you do it when I've got my tongue up your tight arse. [ He gave that laughing boy a peck on his cheek before his eyebrows bobbed and he ate the prize of his stolen bite of pancakes.

Then, as he chewed and swallowed, he just gazed down at him- wordlessly happy that he was there with him. It helped more than Nico, or even Vex, would ever know. ]

Well, we'll have to do that again sometimes soon, except not when you're trying to make breakfast.

[ still chuckling, he reached up to tug vex down into another kiss, this time on the lips with a sugary smear. he wasn't aware just how much he was helping vex at that moment, but given mark's lack of presence, it was clear the fae needed all the company he could get. ]
