I'm curious: what are you making that you think could potentially ruin our kitchen?
no subject
And pasta?
I guess if you don't put enough water with it, it can catch on fire. evidence.jpg
don't worry, this was in my kitchen not yours

A little fire is easy enough to control! I'm not going to worry for a second, Rose. You are in capable hands and I believe you have capable hands yourself. Cooking is like (nearly) anything else. Practice makes perfect!

So busy.
I hope so!
I'm still not confident enough to try making something at home just yet.
I've left most of the cooking to Vanyel, actually...

I'm sure you will get there, if that's your goal. Do you like Vanyel's cooking?

and i'm conveniently free this weekend, if that works for you
i guess only time will tell
and i do. so the do the dogs.
still, it'd like to be able to provide for us too in some way

Providing for your significant other can take on a lot of forms, of course. Alexander and I share cooking duties, though he does handle the majority of any baking that needs to be done. And he always seems to get to the dishes before I do.
What I mean is, there are a lot of ways to find balance. Some of them involve letting your husband do certain household chores so no one fusses over you wasting your magic.

I want to scope out your new pad in this place, after all.
I guess I take care of all the animals. That's my big contribution.
They are technically mine to begin with though, so- Not sure it counts?
I do try to help out though.
Never thought I'd be all... domestic and stuff, but. Here we are.
no subject
I would say that counts. But if you feel like you want to do more, then I think that's fair too. Whatever makes you most comfortable, Rose.
It can take some time to settle into domesticity. [ Magnus takes to it like a fish to water, but he is a big ole romantic sap who is head over heels and all. He's been pining for this life for centuries. ] My advice? Give it time. Let yourself take the time.

I might need to ask for decorating tips again, too. Thankfully, our place actually had furniture this time but
I'm still interior design impaired.
[ It's a life Rose enjoys more than she even she realizes she does, but had never thought she'd have so it's. Definitely taking some adjusting. ]
I guess I'm maybe a little impatient that way.
Always think I should just get things easier or be able to handle it fine.
I know it's not true, but it doesn't stop me from thinking it.

You're not alone, I promise you that. You would think those of us who live a little longer than most would get used to waiting. That patience would come as a natural byproduct of living so long. But I don't think that's the case for many. And that's fine.
Going easy on yourself can be one of the harder things you ever try to do, but if you want my advice? Keep trying.
[ Magnus has some experience with this. And with finding himself in a life he never expected to be living, but enjoys immensely. ]

Old habits die hard and all that
But you know I do always appreciate your help too.
And I'll always be grateful for it
Not to get like
super sappy or whatever
no subject
And I don't mind if you get sappy. I am quite a fan of sappy, actually! I'm glad to have helped you, my dear. I'm glad that I could!
no subject
Because I think we both know it's only a matter of time before I'll need it.
