Now that I hear your story, I understand what you mean about 'having enough stuff going on after school.' Does that happen often in your world? Spider-bites that end in developing super abilities?
It's certainly not the norm in the world I'm from.
[ Magnus appreciates that there's a certain freedom to talk about this kind of thing here. It's made for some interesting connections.
None of them have ever involved radioactive arachnids though. ]
The way you listed those uses [ for the web fluid ] sounded a lot like more stories waiting to be told.
The world you come from sounds like a very interesting place.
Actually, it doesn't sound too dissimilar to the world we visited not that long ago. Some people had powers because of their proximity to a particular event that happened, though others had them for a variety of other reasons.
The makeup of a world like that is bound to be unique.
Let me guess: you come by a lot of those stories by helping people?
It wasn't always that way, but it's become a pretty interesting place. A lot had changed lately.
Really?! Weird. That sounds a lot like where I come from. Maybe it was like some kind of an alternate reality. Do you know if there's a way to get back to it?
[ Because of all the things he'd like to explore, a world that mimics his own would be right on the top of that list. ]
Most of them, yeah. But, sometimes it's by matter of getting myself in over my head.
Oh? I wonder what that might mean. I'm not sure how you'd return, but I wouldn't be the best person to ask. The way I understand it, that world was used as a way of keeping people from working to put things right in their own worlds.
My husband and I and others we knew traveled there intentionally, but arrived with only memories of having been there our whole lives. I gather there's a chance it's not the only world like that. If it sounds similar to your own, maybe there's a chance it was, and maybe there's a way to return.
[ ... the less attractive thought being that it was built to be similar. ]

That one was my third such trip.
Getting in over your head, hm? I'm positive you're far from alone in that.

I mean, there are other people with powers and stuff like that.
[ Or people with absolutely no powers, but a lot of money and a high enough IQ to build a flying suit that gives them powers. ]
But not all of them come from spider bites. Some people are just born with them, or weird radiation causes it. There's a bunch of different reasons.
That's because there are. This whole thing has given me a whole of stories I never would have expected.
