Can I ask about the things I didn't know? Grisha especially
Are you one?

[ He's very glad Magnus has helped him establish that terminology. ]
I can't actually read minds. It would be useful if I could, I imagine, if only for the wealth of information, when everyone here is a stranger.

[ Or just straight up Downworlders. Jace's mind will now be filing all Grisha under that category. ]
I think reading minds would get old pretty fast
Not to mention all the times you'd hear thoughts you never needed to hear. I know the feeling, though
There's a lot we're still in the dark about.

It would be easier if the power structure was clearer. Someone ruling the place, even if in deed rather than title. But the daemons provide the information and everyone else seems to be in the same, as it were, boat.

If it's hierarchy you want you're probably looking in the wrong place. The city seemed abandoned when we got here
It's been filling up as we arrived. Whatever structure it has comes from somewhere else but I'm not clear on where
Like we're sitting in a computer and we can't see who's operating
But someone must be. F.A.T.E.S has some intelligence behind it, we just haven't seen what

Maybe going against that would change things
Could make things worse back home, though. That's a big risk to take
