Characters: Vex & you
Summary: It's been 20 days since Vex arrived in Xistentia, and nobody has seen or heard from Mark in all this time (for you animal-types, his scent is completely faded from Vex by now). It may be time to broach the subject or just hang out with the obviously in-denial fae. If you're a stranger to Vex, or don't know him that well, you may want chill with him on his beach-view porch, he's got cold beers. Ping
thefacelessevil if you want a special starter.
Date(s): June 18th, or dates approximately around then.
Warnings/Notes: death is a prevalent subject, some smut.

OPTION I
Vex's native look hadn't changed much since he first arrived, mainly because it was easier to hand-wash one set of clothes rather than a full wardrobe. He wasn't particularly in the mood to be vain, anyway. His routine hadn't varied much as he still felt more than a little overwhelmed and lost, as such he would go into town for supplies, occasionally scout the area, but in the late afternoons he'd watch the sunset in one of his porch chairs and a cold beer in hand.
He could see him out there in the sand, Mark had always loved the beach. Whether he was running around as a panther or a fae, kicking his feet in the waves, or relaxing in the hot sand, Vex saw him as if he were real. He never tried to go out to interact with the visions, he had a feeling he would spoil them or, even worse, they would disappear- like he had in the portal less than a second after Vex lost his grip on his hand.
If he was greeted while in this state it make take him a moment to hear or see, as he was so lost in this fantasy world that reality was very difficult to grasp. His daemon sat by the edge of the deck, a black short-haired cat with unnatural blue eyes which peered out at the ocean.
OPTION II
It was raining, but Vex did his shopping despite the weather. At least it was warm rain, though without an umbrella it soaked his clothes and made his flip-flops sound rather squishy as he walked. He didn't seem to care how much water he was tracking inside the buildings, even though which now had proper shopkeepers. Feel free to scold him for being so careless, or perhaps help him gather supplies.
Even better, offer him a drink and he may actually open up for more than only smalltalk.
OPTION III
Choose your own adventure! Vex can be encountered almost anywhere and he's always got his daemon with him, so go wild if you wish.

[ Hexd was still learning how to interact with Vex's friends, as they were varied in their level of manners. It would peg Axel as the most appreciative of some standard of politeness, but it was sometimes difficult to compute when there were so many glitches in the system. It would now busy itself with the fox, perhaps to see if it was interested in a game of chase.
Vex finally snapped out of it when Axel's voice was suddenly right beside him. ] Oh, 'ello, luv. I didn't-- [ Hear him? See him? It didn't matter, he let it drop off there with a shake of his head. ] Oi, have a seat! You know I'd love to be your boozy guinea pig! [ He waved his hand in the direction of the empty chair beside his, then set his beer on the small stand between them. ]
no subject
Eh, sight-seeing I suppose. [ Because that was better then "watching the visions of my dead husband on the beach". He still wasn't ready to admit that to himself, anyway. The only concession he had made is that he stopped talking about Mark unless he was specifically brought up. ] Well, serve it up darling! Need any of my blood to go with that, or are you alright?
no subject
[ He liked the feeling of the hand on his arm, but he tried not to think about it too much. Axel wasn't here for that sort of thing, and he was miserable enough without trying to creep into what was clearly Andrew's territory. Speaking of, he called out after him. ] Where's Andy?
no subject
It's shit. [ He mumbled in a way that was uncharacteristically stubborn for Vex, but he shook it off and looked back to his friend and the mixing drink. ] Booze improves everything, the stronger the better. But I don't know about you, I've been itching for a fight ever since I got my mesmer back.
no subject
Ahh, thanks luv. I'd offer myself to try it on, but I'm immune to compulsion. Well, from the fae-vamps anyway I honestly haven't tried it with otherworldly vamps. Maybe we should test it out!
[ It's not like it had anything better to do. ]
no subject
No! Afraid not, darling. Either it doesn't work or I'm still not made for any vampy tricks. You could give it a go on Mar-- [ k. Huh. That name was suddenly very difficult to say all of the sudden. ]
no subject
[ Why yes, he did call vampire compulsion "basic shit", he was a bit moody now. Time for another swallow of his drink. ]
Mark's young, he doesn't have all the resistances.
no subject
[ It was like talking about the weather at this point for him. ]
Mark and I, we're fae all the way.
no subject
[ Huh, look at that. The contents of the glass were suddenly emptied down his throat. ]
Yeah, I'm really lucky.
[ Said with all the enthusiasm of a man facing the gallows. ]
no subject
No. We're alright. He's... fine. He's fine.
no subject
He's right there, mate. [ His voice was low and sounded almost lost, as if he knew the next words out of his friend's mouth would be 'I can't see him', or something of that nature. A reasonable part of him knew that he was the only one who could, that he'd just gone mad with grief, but there was another part of him that wanted Axel to say that he saw him too.
That was stupid of him, he knew better than to hope. He shouldn't have said anything at all. ]
no subject
I dunno, luv.
[ He honestly didn't. Maybe they should talk about something else. ]
