Worst Job(s) Held: That might be a toss-up between escorting a ship full of animal droppings through enemy waters and nearly anything involving politics. At least the former was a one-way trip (to the bottom of the ocean, but nonetheless). I got less muck on my shoes, too.

Best Job(s) Held: Transportation adviser to the queen of France. Club owner in multiple universes. I did a brief turn as a private investigator, trench coat and all. Oh, speakeasy operator! No trench coat for that one.

Fantasy Job(s): Perhaps one day I'll open a night club in outer space...

Current Job(s): High warlock. Until recently, club owner. Baked good taste tester. I also work full-time as one half of the Lightwood-Bane Coalition for Uninterrupted Date Nights.

I don't envy him. Politics is not a strong suit of mine. I'm more minder and adviser than 'leader' in my current position. Which is fine. Most warlocks aren't the type to get into a lot of trouble. Or not where anyone can see and/or do anything about it.

We're not completely without resources here though, correct? We're talking to one another right now, after all. [ Presumably, he's alluding to the daemons. ] If we have trouble networking in person, this could be helpful.

Coincidentally, transport was on my mind. I wonder if you'd tell me your thoughts on the subject.

Space is the next natural place for us to unexpectedly cross paths, don't you think?

I never did. It was an interesting time in my life. Particularly interesting.

Well, I should first note that the title is a little bit of a joke. There may have, once upon a time, been an incident where I pushed Marie Antoinette into a hot air balloon in the name of saving her life.

Or maybe a lot of people already have and he's interested in the possibility of conversing with someone who wouldn't? ]

That's easy enough to answer. A warlock is a half-human with one demonic parent. Demons being a very different affair in our world than most I've talked to.

I have no idea how busy I'll end up being here. I have a few ideas, but perhaps writing my book could be one activity.

I don't intend to sit on my hands, if that's what you mean. If I can help, I will. Now, what form that takes here, I'm not quite sure. I planned to get a little better acquainted with the area in hopes that might give me some insight on the matter.

To that, I'd say: some people aren't going to be receptive to a general. The fact that you want to help and are willing to be organized about it might go a long way.

And I was thinking of portals. Normally, they're only usable when you have a warlock present, of course. As far as I know, I'm the only one around, which would make them completely impractical in terms of the amount of energy consumed. But if they were made portable, that could prove useful.

It's an idea in its infancy right now, to be totally honest. But let's say, for discussion's sake, that I'm feeling motivated to contribute something. Highly so. This would be a great deal more practical than magic cocktails, not that I want to immediately shelve the idea of those making a reappearance someday.

It's been quite awhile since I was in the employ of anyone on a regular basis. That said, I also don't get paid in cash very often. There are other means of compensation that would be useful here.
