Hello there friends and neighbors of Xistentia! This is... a fellow citizen like yourself!
[ He thinks this is set to post anonymously. Oh no, Peter. ]
And today I come to you with a question of the more personal nature;
Once you've gotten yourself a boyfriend, or a girlfriend, what are you supposed to do next?
[ Oh no, Peter ]
Also, what are some things that make someone a good significant other?
I'd like to get an idea and a little bit of insight. I'm still pretty new to relationships.
[ Peter. No. ]

This might not be home but you could still make it work. Talk to them and see what they'd like, that usually works for me
Talking is my tip for being a good boyfriend, too. See also: Listening. Always a plus.

I am very new to romance so please bear that in mind, but I what I believe makes someone a good partner is someone who:
Has respect for you, themselves, and others.
Has similar morals and values, even if they do not hold similar beliefs.
Has some shared interests.
Is open and honest.
Makes you feel happy and secure.
You can invision yourself spending many years with.
Will speak up if they have concerns, and will listen if you do.
You can spend time with in comfortable silence.
Understands you both have your own lives and goals, and will compromise with you.
Has compassion.
Is kind to animals.
There are many other things, but this list has gotten rather long and those are the ones I believe are of the most import.
[ she is a bit of a sap and just described some of her favourite things about her new husbando. but aymeric is mr. perfect so she's sure it all works universally!! ]

i don't have a significant other yet, though there are many things you can do that will help you be a good boyfriend.
going on dates, listening, communicating, letting them know how much you care however you can.
being straightforward with issues that you both may have is important, too, and no matter what: always give a hundred and ten percent.
oh, and don't worry about being new to relationships.
you're certainly not the only one.
[but let's not toss out names willy-nilly or anything.]
