[This was a conversation a long time coming, when Farraige first learned of Rosie's relationship with Vanyel, he felt like he shouldn't have interfered, especially with the way their relationship went. But he felt himself drawn back to Rosie again and again. The fact that she and Vanyel had an open relationship did make things easier on his conscience. But that would only do for so long. A part of him he didn't want to admit did feel a little possessive for someone that made him feel like she did.

So perhaps it was high time they meet. Farraige didn't like feeling like he was hiding, and he had to admit some part of him felt like something of an outsider. But even with that feeling, he would be unlikely to give up how he felt about Rosie. It was just as well, he had wanted to meet Vanyel in Eudio but circumstances didn't permit. Even if his memory of their conversations had grown a little hazy in the interim, he remembered Vanyel speaking as a stand-up person. With no idea of how time and the change in scenery might have affected him, Farraige hoped he would still be as decent seeming a person as he remembered. It's this moment Farraige finds himself in, waiting for the two to arrive at his home.]

[Some of Farraige's tension seems to dissipate on seeing Vanyel. He wasn't expecting him to be so easy on the eyes, but he's happy to see them both. Ushering them into his house, he sets about fetching some small comforts from the kitchen.]

Can I get you guys anything? I went out the other day looking for some supplies. I found some plants in the forest that make for good tea.

[He keeps sneaking little peeks at both Vanyel and Rosie while rummaging through his kitchen. He's rather curious to learn more about Vanyel in particular, what the relationship is exactly between Rosie and Vanyel, and how exactly Farraige fits into this whole puzzle. If the two glance around, they might see Farraige's daemon regarding them with just as much curiosity, though doing its best to keep out of sight.]

[ Since they've arrived, Rose hasn't let go of Vanyel's hand. She's tactile with him in a way she isn't with others. At least not as much. She'll take a seat in his living room wherever there's one available and bring her boyfriend down with her. ]

Tea sounds awesome, dude. [ A beat. ] Guess you've been keeping pretty busy, hm?

[ Small talk. Formalities. A sign that she's a bit more uneasy than she's actually letting on. Vanyel can likely sense it in her, if anyone can. Her eyes catch the skittish daemon, but she doesn't try to pry it out of hiding. Instead, she regards it with a smile before her focus returns to Farraige as he comes back from the kitchen. ]

Tea would be great. [He doesn't seem remotely bothered by how tactile Rose is being, mainly because he isn't. He settles in as close to her as the seating arrangements allow, and keeps up the slow, gentle rubbing with his thumb. Because he does sense that uneasiness in her, he gives her hand another gentle squeeze in reassurance even as he examines the room and what he can see of the rest of the house from here.

He's no longer quite smiling, but his expression remains friendly, open and curious. While he notices the daemon, he's distracted from it as Farraige comes back into the room. Vanyel takes the opportunity to study him in turn; he knows a little more now than what he'd gleaned from their conversations, thanks to Rose, but he'd like to learn more still.

And he wants them to get along, as much because he's missed the company of other mages as because he has some idea how important it is to Rose.]

[The preparations for tea are enough to distract him from how nervous he feels for the time being. Not to mention Vanyel himself looks intimidating in person. Handsome, rugged, he's a bit bemused that he's been there all along and yet she sought him out. Maybe that's a question he'll find an answer to.

Thanks to a few magical shortcuts, it doesn't take long for the water to come to a boil, bringing out the still steeping cups for the three of them before taking a seat in an adjacent chair to them.]

Busy enough. I get bored if I'm too idle, so if it isn't study that has me occupied it's the mysteries surrounding our current predicament.

[Which might come off as a bit of a distant answer, but in truth it's simply Farraige being unsure as to how to bridge the gap for conversation to 'Hey, we're foolin around with the same lady, you cool with that?' Let it never be said he lacks tact, after all. Whether or not the mysteries he ponders are their relationship or the fact they were spared oblivion remains to be seen. Though Farraige has enough sense and self awareness to catch himself, and offers an explanation, cracking a small grin.]

Sorry, bad habit. The guys did say I get all "wizard-y" as they call it when I'm nervous. I really am glad to have you both here. Tea should be done steeping in about two minutes.

[There is that certain odd tension in the air, but how best to dispell it? A ponderous question indeed.]

I guess... I should probably ask what you two have talked about? Then maybe I can explain where I'm comin' from on this whole deal.

[ She's grateful that at least one of them seems to want to get down to business. If left up to her, Rose would have probably talked until it was time to go about everything but they'd come together to discuss. ]

It's not a bad thing, I don't think, [ she confesses. ] Makes you seem mysterious. [ Alluring. But Rose keeps that adjective to herself because she's being... cautious. She doesn't want to overstep any boundaries or cause any trouble where there might be done. It's almost strange, in a way, to see her so obviously walking on eggshells when with both of these men she'd always done just about anything but. ]

Well. Not too much, honestly. Vanyel knows that I was sort of seeing you in Eudio now and... like I told you, it's. It's an open relationship, so. Uhm. I'm not going to speak too much for him, but. I guess I'd like for both of you to be my boyfriends, if that's alright. And we can figure out what that all means.

[Of the three of them, Vanyel probably has the fewest concerns. As such, he doesn't really feel it's his place to try and lead this discussion. He would have done it, had the small talk gone on too long, but he would have felt a touch awkward doing so.

Even knowing it's best to get down to business, he can't help but smile at that comment about getting bored when idle.] I know that feeling quite well.

[As Rose can attest. But when they cut the small talk so does he, settling back in his seat and curling his free hand around the mug of steeping tea.] And for my part, I have no objection to that. [He's determined not to, anyway, despite any dragonish instincts to the contrary.]

I guess I should first ask... Rose, did you tell Vanyel anything I've told you? This is really important to me and I don't want to come off as distant or something.

[That was his way, after all. Keep traveling, keep your distance, and don't interfere. Such was his creed, and such was the way he had done things until she came into his life.]

I want to make this work more than anything else, but I feel like it wouldn't be right unless I laid all my cards on the table. But... Yeah. I want the same thing, Rose.

[Or maybe both of them, if that was okay too. But he's not nearly so bold as to admit that out loud. Especially yet when he doesn't really have the chance to know what Vanyel's really like.]

[ Ah. Right. Rose had been so caught up in normal problems - mismatch of personalities, lack of chemistry - that his magical one hadn't even occurred to her. Not that she considered it a problem. Not as long as he was willing to be honest and Vanyel was alright with working with it. ]

I haven't told him anything, [ she admits. Because she didn't want to relay any information second-hand, just in case it was something Farraige that deemed confidential. ]

Well. Other than that you can use magic as well. You guys should talk that out though, actually! I definitely want you two to be friends [ or more, honestly ] and that could be a good way to bond, maybe?

[Vanyel certainly wouldn't be opposed to "or more," if that's how things develop. He's already predisposed to like Farraige at least a little, which is always a good place to start these sorts of things.

His gaze darts from Farraige to Rose and back at the turn in the conversation. He'd never ask Rose to break a friend -or partner's- confidence, of course, but. Hmm. If he were a dragon in body as well as soul, his tail might be lashing in annoyance that they seem to be keeping secrets from him.

But that's an irrational reaction and he knows it, so he tamps it down as hard as he can. The dragon is not the one in control here, thank you.]

I do always enjoy comparing notes, as it were, with other mages. [He says with a bit of a smile, latching onto Rose's suggestion as a means of shaking off those dragonish thoughts.] But that's probably best saved for another time. For now... all cards on the table, as you say.

[Because if they're really going to try and make a go of this, all three of them, then there's a thing or two he ought to lay out for Farraige in turn.]

[Comparing magic did sound like a sufficient enough excuse to spend time with him. Then again, it's not like he would really need one if they're all kind of a thing. Well, Rosie and her boys, anyway. He had to admit he liked the sound of that.]

And maybe somewhere there'll be less collateral damage, I do rather like my place after all.

[He cracks a grin at his own joke, but his earlier thoughts also leave him lingering with a small smile, even in the face of more grim business.]

So I am... Well, was, a traveling wizard. I was supposed to be mending my world and figuring out the origin and reason for the presence of a... Hitchhiker, let's call it.

[That's a very, very, very simple explanation of circumstances, but one that doesn't include his True name. At least, not yet anyway.]

So far it won't do anyone any harm, we never figured out if it was good or evil, but from what I've gathered speaking to it over the years, it's neither. It simply is.

Rose knows about its presence, but I also figured it only fair to tell you as well, Vanyel. It doesn't usually make itself known unless something has a significant enough presence to seem a threat to it. Nothing yet at least to make it want to take the reins out of my hands, as it were.

[ It definitely did have a nice ring to it, hm? Rosie thinks so too. She already puffed up proudly when anyone called Vanyel 'hers.' She'd likely to the same now when it came to Farraige. ]

Farraige knows about me too, [ she feels the need to interject. Showing her true self, as Vanyel likely knew, wasn't something she did openly. Once Vanyel had become privvy to it though, she admits it'd come easier with Farraige. Even now, she'd likely be inclined to show someone if they asked and didn't seem like someone to have their feelings change because of it. ]

The wolf side of me, I mean. And that's... That's really my hand, so.

[Perhaps unsurprisingly, Vanyel also likes the sound of that. He doesn't mind in the least being called 'hers', even if there is a small, decidedly dragonish part of him that would have preferred it to be the other way around.

He smiles again at Farraige's response, unable to help himself.] Fair enough.

[The smile fades, though, as Farraige keeps talking. His brows shoot toward his hairline at that mention of a 'hitchhiker,' but... well, it sounds like Farraige's been dealing with it for some time - long enough to know its limits and how it generally behaves, at least. Then Rose chimes in, and... It goes a long way toward easing his worries, actually. She knew that, and still felt secure enough to entrust him with a secret she usually tends to keep as close to her chest as she can get away with. If her obvious fondness for Farraige weren't enough of a recommendation, that seals the deal.]

Then I suppose it's my turn, isn't it? [He asks, but the question is entirely rhetorical. Addressing Farraige directly, he continues] I'm what's know in my homeland as 'Dragonborn' - human body, dragon soul. Which mostly manifests as the ability to use their magic as instinctively as they do themselves... [And while it's tempting to stop there, the point was full disclosure.] And to absorb the knowledge and power of any I defeat in combat.

Farraige regards Vanyel's revelation with a bit of surprise, eyes widening somewhat. "I never thought I'd meet someone with that kind of power. Dragons aren't around where I come from, but with magic coming back into the world there's always the possibility."

Though his mind immediately goes to the presence of the thing within him. Could it comprehend what dragons are? Would it view him as a threat? Externally Farraige might well be able to carry on a normal conversation, but internally he's focusing his efforts on making sure his internal companion knows that they're friends.

But perhaps a focus away from how potentially dangerous they could be is in order. "How did you two meet, anyway?" He asks, genuinely curious if Eudio had been the start or if they had jumped worlds before.

I, uh. I got bowled over by a cheese wheel at one of Eudio's festivals.

[ It's still funny to think about, actually. ]

He healed me and we chatted a little bit. Met again at the Jade Shrine. Went on an official nature date after that. Happened to both be at an orgy and hooked up, y'know.

Usual couple stuff.

[He lets Rose tell it, only cracking when she describes what happened at the orgy as 'usual couple stuff,' biting back laughter but unable to help a grin.]

And only had anymore official dates afterward - which strikes me as a little out of order, but. It seems to have worked out for us, doesn't it?

[The question is directed at Rose, along with a smile that might be just a touch on the soppy side.]

[The casual nature with which they bring up such a thing is so far beyond Farraige's wheelhouse, it makes him choke on his tea mid-drink. It takes him a good minute or so to regain his composure, beet red and thumping his chest with his fist to try and help catch his breath.]

Holy mackerel!

[Coughing, coughing, okay. There's his composure coming back.]

Just how many ways will people come up with to fuck?

[A rare instance of him swearing, but now he's looking between the two of them being a bit unsure. Perhaps also a bit jealous that Rosie has done so much, or that others have had their hands on her? Who can say, it's an entirely foreign emotion to him. Best to deal with later.]

I suppose there is something to be said for following the beat of your own drum.

I'd say it's worked out pretty great. [ Her own expression in kind is sweet and shmoopy and-

Oh. Oh, no. He's choking. Oh, no. It's adorable. There's no hiding the way that Rose grins at his red face, obviously endeared. For even what they've done together, she knows Farraige is a bit more reserved. Which is why she's a little surprised at the swear. ]

As many ways as they can, I imagine. And I can see why! I've been having a lot of fun trying out new things.

[That's... not entirely unexpected, honestly. He knows his upbringing -and the resulting lack of anything resembling reserve or shame- was fairly unusual.

Doesn't mean the coughing isn't a tad concerning, at first. But once that's under control, and the flush remains...]

Oh. [He glances Rose's way again.] You were right - that is adorable. [Which probably isn't going to help Farraige stop blushing anytime soon, whoops.]

I've always thought so, anyway. [And there is an actual answer for Farraige, if he'd rather not dwell on the fact that Vanyel and Rose have apparently discussed his attractiveness in some detail.]

Maybe that was a poor choice of words.

[He lets out a small huff, eager to change the topic. Had they been talking about him before this happened? It struck him as wholly bizarre. To have so much done to see his identity erased, and now there would be people who remember him so fondly, even outside of the Masters' reach.

It was hard to hide that little grin, even if such a wish felt kind of selfish.]

Look I'll er... Need to take things at a slower pace. I'm sure you both understand why.

[This was all new territory and his stomach was aflutter with butterflies. He never thought something like this would happen. Someone to love. Or maybe someones? Only time would tell, he wagers.

Isn't it? [ she agrees, easily.

And of course she has to snort a laugh at his unintentional innuendo. It's cute. Though it does also give her some rather... interesting ideas for the future, whenever Farraige is ready.

Speaking of, ] I do. I'm sure Vanyel does too, but that's- It's not a problem with me at all. I want you to be comfortable. That was kind of the point of getting together like this and all.

[He has to bite his cheek at the unintentional innuendo but it does still get a chuckle out of him - because they'd discussed that too, he and Rose, and the idea's only become more appealing in the face that reaction.

But he doesn't want to make Farraige uncomfortable any more than Rose does. So though there's a quippy response on the tip of his tongue -'we could if you'd like'- he swallows that too.]

Of course. [He says instead.] I don't mean to cause you any discomfort either. I'm content to let things happen in their own time.

[If only he knew that was the reason his ears had been burning.]

I mean... It's not like it's bad.

[His voice trails off a little as his gaze shifts about, trying to find the right words.]

It's fun and all, I'm just... Not used to it.

Getting you used to it is what we're here for, [ she says. ] Well, we're here for more than that! But still.

I won't push or anything but y'know. If you're ever wanting to try something new or move a little further, then I'm more than happy to help.

[He aims a quick glance Rose's way, equal parts fond and exasperated, that clear says 'down, girl.']

Likewise. [And that part is for Farraige.] I won't push either, of course, but... [But if Farraige wants to experiment, Vanyel is more than willing to help.]

[He says little more on the subject, but his expression communicates enough of his relief.]

I really appreciate you both for understanding.

[His posture relaxes a little, seeming less folded in on himself.]

Maybe this can work. I'd really like to go back someday and prove the masters wrong about their whole philosophy.

I'd like you to be able to tell them they were full of it, too.

[ Rose doesn't know the whole of things so she can't rightfully say such a thing, but- It doesn't stop her from thinking it all the same. She wants Farraige to be able to do what he wants without worry of how his involvement might affect things or feel like he can't for any such reasons. Rose herself had spent too much of her life believing things of a similar vein and she'll happily hop on the opportunity to help someone else in that way. ]

Well, boys, [ she says, smiling big and bright and, for once, genuine as can be. ] I think we've got ourselves the start to a good relationship.

[He knows even less than Rose, but. He's fundamentally opposed to anyone having to hide or repress themselves. So]

Agreed. [He says, and smiles at both of them.] On both counts.
