Couple of reasons
I've never heard of a grisha or a kruge, and given we're all from different worlds, that means there's more of a chance they're true

Then you said disfigured, but unless we're only talking about looks, gloves wouldn't be enough to hide it
If it were about looks, I don't think you'd draw attention to it here. The only scars I'd tell people about are the ones I want them to see.

You're right, of course. If I was disfigured I wouldn't use it as part of a game, especially not if I spent so much time covering it.

I can't actually read minds. It would be useful if I could, I imagine, if only for the wealth of information, when everyone here is a stranger.

Not to mention all the times you'd hear thoughts you never needed to hear. I know the feeling, though

I suppose you'd have to be someone with an appreciation for knowing what no-one else does, no matter what form that knowledge takes. People do tend to have some awful secrets.

It would be easier if the power structure was clearer. Someone ruling the place, even if in deed rather than title. But the daemons provide the information and everyone else seems to be in the same, as it were, boat.

If it's hierarchy you want you're probably looking in the wrong place. The city seemed abandoned when we got here

It's been filling up as we arrived. Whatever structure it has comes from somewhere else but I'm not clear on where

But someone must be. F.A.T.E.S has some intelligence behind it, we just haven't seen what
