Mandy's is looking a bit festive this evening. Arrayed with spiderwebs, pumpkins, and other ghoulish decorations, the interior resembles a spooky haunted house. Spooky, not scary! Everyone's invited to stop by and celebrate All Hallow's Eve with spirited drinks, excellent company, and a lot of that Magnus flair.

You can loosen up on the dance floor to Monster Mash, Thriller, Dead Man's Party, or maybe something from this list. The spooky sky's the limit! Visit the bar for one of several special drinks you won't soon forget. You can also sample some tasty and holiday-appropriate baked goods, courtesy of the other Mr. Lightwood-Bane. Finally, stop by the table with the MAGIC 8 BALL to learn a little more about your fellow partygoers.

Siren Song
If you're a little tone-deaf, don't fret. This drink will turn you into a master at serenading. It won't actually give you the ability to influence anyone via magical means, but maybe if your song choice is apt, you'll woo someone either way!

Firework!
A drink that comes with a portable fireworks show hovering over its surface. Drinking it will give you the sensation of ingesting liquid pop-rocks.

Blacklight
Does what it says on the tin and makes the drinker glow under a black light. It's also kind of sour.

Frankenstein's Monster
This drink is quite shocking. Not dangerously so, but when you drink it, you'll have the impression of getting a tingling little jolt of electricity down your spine. It's aliiiiive.

To Be or Not To Be (A Daemon)
Drink this and you will find you've been magically swapped with your daemon. It only lasts ten minutes, but hey! You'll get to see how the other half lives. A note: you won't inherit one another's abilities!

Congratulations to our costume contest winners!

In first place for individual costumes...

Rafa wins for his devilish costume and he'll be awarded 2 potions: the first of which will up his luck stat, granting him good fortune in an endeavor (it says "Deal with the Devil" on the bottle) and the second will up his persuasion stat, helping him to be more successful in an argument (it says "The Devil's Advocate" on the bottle).

In second place for individual costumes...

Nico plunders the second place spot and will be given a treasure chest full of chocolates that are rum flavored. Careful, they pack a bit of a punch and when consumed, they'll make whoever eats them feel especially happy. No sad drunks here!

In third place for individual costumes...

Zeke and his amazingly sunny costume are in third and he wins a sunflower plant that will never cease to bloom and seems to have a bit of a glow about it. Plus, perpetual supply of sunflower seeds?

In first place for couples costumes...

Magnus and Alec came first for their portrayal of... each other... and they win a pair of seemingly mundane t-shirts that say "Bennet" and "Darcy" on them. What's that about?

In second place for couples costumes...

Vex and Kenzi delighted with their take on the Addams' family patriarch and matriarch and won second place. As a prize, Kenzi will be given a shampoo and conditioner set that seems pretty innocuous until you check out the writing on the bottles: 'Have YOU ever wanted hair like Cousin Itt? Are you ever in luck!' Just a small amount will make her locks lustrous and smooth. Vex will be given a very lifelike and animated hand in a box.

In third place for couples costumes...

Rose and Kaz were drop dead gorgeous in their mafia-inspired garb. As prizes, they will receive the following: for Rose, a pair of magical die that make music when thrown, and for Kaz, a set of playing cards that are intricately illustrated with astonishing art that seems to move. Watch out for the face cards, they get very opinionated about your playing. They both also receive a chip that can be relinquished to Magnus for a small magical favor.

Why can't a girl be a ghost-buster? I don't think of ghosts as being universally misogynistic--it'd depend on the person who died, wouldn't it?

[Okay, a part of him recognizes that he's getting in a little too deep about something very silly, but he also feels like Amanda will understand. And maybe he is, well, a bit of a nerd, but if he is, he's in good company.]

I think I knew when I was ten, although I didn't admit it to meself until I was seventeen. Or, I suppose I pretended it wasn't true--that if I stopped thinking about it, I'd stop having those feelings.

[Which, of course, had backfired spectacularly, in the end.]

I think it was for the best, though. My dad would have been a bastard about it anyway, and now I don't have to listen to him yell at me anymore.

[Smiling shyly, he reaches over and briefly squeezes Amanda's hand.] And you don't have to be a mermaid anymore, unless you want to. I think this one suits you better, though.

[ Hearing that he was treasured, although perhaps something he was aware of, always made his heart soar. ]

As am I, [ he agrees. ] So long as I have you, I think I'll be ready for anything!

Think nothing of it! [ Sidon declares, giving a dismissive wave of his... hand? Fin? It's kind of both, honestly. ]

It's the least I can do, considering we're all here for a common reason! The more we help each other out, the easier it will be.

[ To that, Sidon throws back his head and laughs quite jovially. Ah, yes, he's heard that one before. ]

I suppose not! As long as it's not hurting anyone though, I don't see the problem.

[ He's gotten so used to such a reaction this evening that it hardly bothers him. Not that it did much to begin with, honestly. Not much seems to get to Sidon. ]

Oh! [ he exclaims, suddenly understanding the man's predicament. ]

Hello! [ he returns, just as cheerfully. She isn't like the others of the evening, honestly. Tonn stares but hers is one filled with appreciation instead of befuddlement. It's nice, honestly, to be regarded with awe instead of confusion. She has such a beautiful smile, too. It makes him happy that he can be the cause of some of it. ]

I'd be happy to try some!

[ Most people would probably have a bit more sense to... not ingest something that looks so risky, but. What's life without a little excitement, right? He holds a smaller, empty glass out for her to pour into. ]

[ He'd hate to be making enemies on his first night here, honestly. He'd hate to make enemies. Yet, he knows that not everyone can get along. Even if he, perhaps naively, wishes they could. ]

( it's a good thought, and he's curious as to why aymeric has had it. maybe he's one of those people, who would rather not return to their world. ) I'm sure that could work out. This place could be nice, without the threat of war. If we defeat D.E.S.T.I.N.Y....

( he trails off, because honestly, it seems unlikely. with how little they know of their enemy's army, it's methods, it's history, alec has little hope they'll be able to defeat it for good any time soon. it might take years and several attacks to learn the way. the prison worlds were one thing, he's sure they have other tactics. )

( that might be easier. he doesn't particularly remember the song titles, just knows the biggest classics, and in a distant way. he's never sat down and listened to music before meeting magnus. he'd never made the time for that, and mundane music was mundane music.

I think I could make a few recommendations, [ Magnus offers, doing nothing to mask a somewhat coy note in his voice.

It sounds like something he'd really enjoy, actually. With Alec. He can see the merit of sharing something like, from a musician like the one they're talking about, but there doesn't need to be a good reason, either.

[ eyeing both the drink and kavinsky with mild annoyance, he finally takes a sip to see if he can even drink it. it may be that he'll regret it later, but for now, he is a little thirsty. but finding the flavor sour like explained, he scrunches his nose and pushes it back towards the other boy. ]

We're not in love. He's the only family I have. [ but he doesn't argue about being hung up on yuu. this is familiar territory. he's used to the teasing from ferid bathory. his expression is mildly pinched but he lets the inane talk wash over him like water off a duck's back. ]

So everyone here has lost someone, is what you're getting at. I already figured as much, given our worlds are supposed to be ending and we're here to save them.

No food is truly palatable for my people. Some scents are worse than others, but the preference is individual. My people drink blood, we do not eat.

[ That's probably going to be alarming. He tries not to look threatening about it, which is no mean feat considering he's dressed in a devil costume. ]

[ And of course, the problem was a faerie queen. Rafa's eyes all but roll out of his head. ]

Ah yes, of course the source of your woes would be a faerie. Why am I not surprised? They are all too good at what they do.

[ He knows. He might be at peace with the faeries of his own world now, but he's never going to mistake a lack of violence for trust. Neither is it a surprise to him that the queen used their emotions to attack them. The faeries of Alec's world don't seem that different to the ones of Rafa's. ]

I am glad you have come through it, and her manipulations did not stick. I am sorry about your brother, as well. And for the choices you have had to make. You must always make the right one for your people, I know this, but…you know how highly I value love. You must find the balance. Perhaps, if your people were more united, there would be no choice at all.

[ So if Alec's alliance is successful, maybe he'll have less to worry about with his relationship, too. ]

[ Leo rolls his eyes at the other's question. ]

What? Your super special spider skills wouldn't have been enough to help you out? [ It's said with a grin that makes it clear he's just giving the other a hard time!

He's about to agree when the other just grabs him and drags him along. ]

Well, since you're giving me a choice and all. [ He's very clearly not objecting as they make their way outside and at least the night air is pretty damn refreshing and there's no fucking rain. ]

You'd be surprised. And like I said, I'm a detective. No one's gonna suspect the detective of being one at a costume party, right? You just gotta keep your mouth shut or you're gonna give a lady's cover away.

[ he's wholly impressed. you can see it in the little arch of his brow as he follows wyatt's gaze around the roo. his brow draws in a bit because really, the lot of them look just like regular people to him. he tilts his head, waiting for someone to, uh, he's not sure, bust out into flames or something magical or whatever, he's not into that occulty magical bullshit.

he looks back at wyatt, face pretty incredulous-looking at this point. ]

Long as no one's drawing blood, I'll let them have their fun. Though it's weird, you're saying someone's got your dad's face but isn't your dad? [ juno might look a little weirded out at that ] That happen very often? [ he'll take vampires over doppelgangers. ]
