Worst Job(s) Held: That might be a toss-up between escorting a ship full of animal droppings through enemy waters and nearly anything involving politics. At least the former was a one-way trip (to the bottom of the ocean, but nonetheless). I got less muck on my shoes, too.

Best Job(s) Held: Transportation adviser to the queen of France. Club owner in multiple universes. I did a brief turn as a private investigator, trench coat and all. Oh, speakeasy operator! No trench coat for that one.

Fantasy Job(s): Perhaps one day I'll open a night club in outer space...

Current Job(s): High warlock. Until recently, club owner. Baked good taste tester. I also work full-time as one half of the Lightwood-Bane Coalition for Uninterrupted Date Nights.

You seem to have led quite an interesting life, Ser Lightwood-Bane.

My daemon tells me 'warlock' is a similar class to Thaumaturges and Black Mages of my realm.
Would you mind if I enquire more about that?

I think we all do, really. Mine has been a little longer than most, which gives me a lot of options to choose from!

I don't mind talking more about it. Ask away! I am a book that is almost entirely open.

Ah, yes, that would explain it. A longer life undoubtedly means that much more opportunity for such adventures.
I almost envy you, ser.

[ Almost. Aymeric is fond of the idea of adventuring, but finds in practice it's a lot less glamorous than one might imagine. ]

I suppose I shall start with the basics.
What is your realm's definition of a warlock?

Almost? [ That's an interesting caveat. A lot of people would just say they're envious.

Or maybe a lot of people already have and he's interested in the possibility of conversing with someone who wouldn't? ]

That's easy enough to answer. A warlock is a half-human with one demonic parent. Demons being a very different affair in our world than most I've talked to.

I am of the belief that there are others much better suited to adventuring than I.
What little I have dabbled in it thus far has proved to be quite overwhelming in some regards.

[ He's down for some, like, light adventuring. Venturing to new parts of the realm, but... for vacation. Or the simple thrill of it. Not war or politics. ]

Twould probably be true of my realm as well, considering I have never heard of any reports of half-demon children.

[ And truthfully, Eorzea doesn't really have demons by the usual definition anyway. ]

Are there many of your people?

For the sake of fairness, I'd have to argue that almost anyone can be suited to it! Not all adventures are created equal. Some are more fun than dangerous. But that doesn't mean everyone would enjoy it, either.

If it's not for you, then what is? If I can be so nosy.

[ He's been getting more obvious about his nosiness. This is a fun subject for nosing around, right? Maybe? Going new places! Seeing new things! Etc. ]

Warlocks aren't particularly abundant in our world, no. But I wouldn't say we're exceedingly rare either. Enough to get into trouble from time to time!

Then I suppose it would be fairer to say that I am ill-suited for the adventures I have had thus far.

As for me, I find the responsibilities of Lord Commander to be quite fulfilling. A bit more political contention than physical, but I have a way with it I've been told.

[ He worked hard to get where he is. His muddled blood didn't give him any sort of advantage though some might try and claim otherwise. ]

Not too much, I should hope. However, a little trouble from time to time likely keeps things interesting.
What exactly can a warlock do?

I see. In that case, maybe different adventures will be waiting for you in the future? I hope so, anyway.

If you're suited to politics, then you have a rare gift. [ He will stand by that to the grave. And given he's immortal, so that's a long time. ]

No, not so much trouble we can't handle ourselves. Warlocks have and can use magic, for the most part. It gives us a varied list of abilities.

I am not opposed to a bit of peace and quiet.
In moderation. Too long and I will undoubtedly find myself restless, considering my usual responsibilities occupy most - if not all - of my time.

Thank you. You are not the first to say so, though I admit I never thought much of the affinity for it.
There are undoubtedly much better, more experienced diplomats than me such the Elder Seedseer of Gridania or The Admiral in Limsa Lominsa.

What are some of your capabilities as a warlock?

You might find new ones here. I'm sure it can't all be high-speed adventures and perilous encounters with strange creatures from a world we've only just begun to familiarize ourselves with.

And what title do you aspire to?

I don't mind telling you! In a situation like this, some could be useful. I can transport people and objects from one place to another. Heal people, use offensive magic to attack and defend. I make a mean cocktail.
