My friends, brothers and sisters in arms, fellow refugees - I need your assistance in settling an argument.

[ here's thor, with a starkly different haircut from last anyone saw him, standing before the camera looking a little more relaxed and a little more mischievous these days. maybe this whole thing is half him genuinely trying to win an argument with loki, and half him just being a little shit, because that's what brothers are for.

and it's nice to actually be a brother again. but we're not talking about that. we're just embarrassing loki. here we go. ]

My dearest, gentle, shy brother, Loki, seems to believe I never approve of his choice in lovers. Likely because his choice lovers are typically either lunatics, or unbearably obnoxious. I think it's his approach to the whole ordeal, so I thought I might do the worthy brotherly thing, and lend him something of a hand.

[ is that thor, god of thunder, one eyed king of asgard, trying to hold in a snicker? nope, couldn't be. probably the cyclops thing messing up the symmetry of his face. must be. ]

[ The pillow goes back to hit Thor in the face. ]

Give me a few minutes and I'll join you.

[drapes]

[ there's some half muffled cackling from the other room, thor taking the pillow straight to the face, then flopping over on the couch to settle in, snickering. ]

Would you prefer 'being wooed'? I've never been too sure how dominant you like to be in the romantic sides of things.

[ are you a sub, loki? are we learning new things about each other? ]

[ Loki infinitely prefers being wooed, but he's hardly going to tell Thor that. He's an attention-seeker, he doesn't always feel like putting in the effort. ]

It is a matter of preference and also, none of your business.

[drapes]

[ oh. he found an annoying thing, but also a thing he genuinely doesn't know about loki, which is rare. plus, a thing he's apparently not allowed to know, which really just makes him want to know it more.

clearly that means he should keep prodding at it ]

Why? Ashamed of it? [ nothing teasing in the word, just questioning, though he's still speaking in that casual, flippant, playful tone. ] There's nothing wrong with liking what you like, brother.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Except now his hackles are rising up. Asgard is no longer a shadow at his back, but Loki hasn't forgotten or forgiven. Simply because he has eased up does not mean he has let anything go. ]

I am not ashamed of it. Asgard was ashamed of me, remember?

[drapes]

[ thor's quiet for a second or two, squinting up at the ceiling. in their youth, had anyone suggested such a slight to his brother, thor, still young and violent, would've beaten them to a pulp. even now, he's hardly tolerant of anyone beside himself being critical of loki. ]

You're Asgard's prince. No one was ashamed of you.

[dothelokimotion]

[ It was the simplicity of Thor's statement that annoys him but also lets the anger ebb away. Thor was hardly to blame. He knew that, even if at times the urge to lash out at his brother took precedent. Loki has a clearer view of events, less jumbled and gargled from the lies his father had told him. For a moment, he merely sighs. ]

Even so, they didn't think much of me. And I was hardly going to give them more reason to.

[drapes]

[ some things are too far from thor's experienced reality for him to grasp in just description. it seems more and more that they'd led completely different lives, while being raised together as equals. more and more of the golden picture asgard painted has been flaking away since all this between them began. since hela especially.

but it irks him, the resigned tone loki has to him, the thought he'd be shunned for something so stupid. that anyone would dare to, a son of odin, thor's brother. after a quiet moment or so, thor eventually speaks up again. ]

They'd have to think less of me as well, then. I've enjoyed both roles at times.

[ not really something he's ever shouted from the hills, but if anything, thor's pretty secure in his masculinity. doesn't hurt him to admit it, besides it being fairly personal. ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ There is a long, possible awkward pause at that. Loki shifts closer, eyeing Thor skeptically. ]

You know that's not how it works.

[drapes]

[ thor tells himself he isn't feeling awkward. nope, just bros talking about taking it in the ass. nothing awkward about that. he's very good at deciding what he reality is like that. anywho. ]

I'dve stood by you regardless. [ 'had I known', 'had I noticed'. ] And Asgard could either look poorly on both her princes, or find something new to be particular about.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki huffs, torn between amusement and affection. Of all the things for Thor to speak up for . . . this had not been one Loki imagined. Still. He gently squeezes Thor's shoulder, letting his actions speak for words he cannot say. ]

I think Asgard has bigger problems now.

[drapes]

That it certainly does.

[ absolutely no one gives a flying fuck what the brothers do in bed at this point. Only that they’ll get them to a safe place to call home once more.

Thor reaches a hand up, wide palm and rough fingers circling Loki’s wrist to give a short squeeze back. Physical affection used to be a regular thing to them, Thor always taking hold of Loki from one place or another and yanking him around. Something natural to him that’s been missed. ]

Are you done with the vampire yet? [ “are we there yet” can we watch tv now? ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki deliberately frowns at Thor as he snakes his hand away. He's getting better but it is still difficult to let it linger. ]

He has a name.

[ But he moves closer so that they can both get a better view of the screen. ]

Did you finally pick something?

[drapes]

With your Rafaello?

[ which is a strange name by midgardian standards, but it seems to suit the man well. Thor has settled on a title that seems to have a great many explosions, and it streams across the TV screen as Thor settles into the couch in the living room near loki’s quarters. ]

This one, I think. Tropic Thunder.

[ yes he did choose it just because it has Thunder in the name. And we’ll just pretend Robert Downey Jr is not completely identical to Tony Stark, oops. ]

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki swats him lightly on the shoulder before he settles down. ]

Still not mine, Thor.

[ As he hears the name, Loki grimaces. What an obvious choice. ]

Fine. Let's see what this Tropical Thunder has to offer.

[drapes]

[ from the first mention of 'booty sweat' to tony stark's twins and the flying tivo and the bald fat man with too much chest hair dancing, this movie is freaking weird. there was no thunder, as was advertised, though the explosions were entertaining, as was some of the gore and violence. the brothers spent most of the hour and 45 minutes of the film either googling things (bluray, porno, viet cong), squinting at the tv, arguing over the worth of this time spent, or listening to thor quietly snicker.

he's really not sure if loki actually enjoyed any of it, but the conversation alone was well spent for thor, having ended up shoulder to shoulder with his brother by the end of it, feet propped on some fancy ottoman that came with the fancy house, a bag of chips rested on a thigh, and the couch now with a odinsons shaped dent in it.

the very graphic descriptions of homosexual foreplay were kind of awkward, but all in all, a good time. next? ]

And this Die Hard. You say it has more explosions than this?

[ explosions are cool and all, but they learned a lot of midgardian culture from all the googling they had to do here. ] Is it as educational?

[ Loki had stopped noticing how close they were sitting together. He seems fairly loosened up. It was a difficult movie to follow, compared to Die Hard, but it wasn't terrible. Even the Tony Stark look-alike was amusing. It seems mortals eschew the values of money, but still covet it anyway. An interesting fact to make note of. ]

The story was much easier to follow. It is about a "cop" who takes on an entire group of thieves. It lacks the explosions this one had, but it was certainly entertaining.

A soldier, fighting crime? And this was something you enjoyed? [ even in their youth, mischief and trouble had seemed to excite loki more than heroics and justice. not that thor hadn't gotten plenty of a kick out of the former as well, but his idea of heroics then were all part of ego feeding. it's interesting, though, to find something he hadn't expected loki to be so interested in.

tapping at the remote, thor's typing in the letters to search for this die hard movie, somewhat difficult as he's refusing to unslouch himself from the couch, or use both hands, as the other's occupied with digging for more chips. ]

Is it Die Hard as in difficulty in dying, or dying extremely?

[ Loki flicks a chip at Thor's forehead idly ]

He was one man against overwhelming odds. He had to outwit them all. And he did.

[ If there is one thing Loki enjoys, it is the ability to be clever and cunning in the face of adversity. Especially when John McClane is being told to hang back, follow the rules, he charts his own course. What wouldn't Loki like about that? Tapping on the chin, Loki muses on the title. They are creative, but they involve far more thought than an Asgardian play would. ]

I am not sure. The titles don't reflect the story.
