Systems Alliance, come in. This is Lieutenant Commander Shepard of the SSV Normandy reporting.

The planet I've landed on is habitable. In fact, there are others here in the same position as me, though it appears all trace of the crew and ship are MIA. That -- probably means I'm the MIA one. I can only hope you're all still together, and in a beneficial situation. Planetary life here seems peaceful to some degree, but I'll stick to the book if it's necessary. I'm documenting plant life, animal genuses, and physical terrain, so you can expect some good reading whenever we meet up again.

Don't sweat. I'm fighting for Earth still, and I'll be back in the line of fire before you know it. Keep yourselves safe, be smart. Unite the alien races, you know the drill. Earth has its eyes on you, and humanity needs us.

Once or twice. Planetary exploration has some strict protocol -- though, this is the first time humanity's seen a settled place since. Well, First Contact, probably.

Easy as that, huh? I guess humanity has wondered about alternate universes since the beginning. I'll need a lot of proof before I write that in my report -- right now it seems a little far fetched.

Not easy as that. Its just a fact. Where Im from we haven't put a man any further than on the moon. Its still 2016.

From where I'm from, I have information that the world works in 50,000 year cycles, approximately. Your 2016 might be different from mine. There's no reason to think humanity hasn't been involved in these cycles, too.

And it's 2186 back home for me.

Wouldnt that mean time travel, though? For us to all end up here? In which case, why wouldnt different universes also be possible?

Alternate universes have always been possible, it's the probable you have to worry about. Time and space are locked together, but it's been near impossible to harness time -- at least from my world. Space travel is easy, now. Time travel? Different story. It's likely we all encountered some interdimensional anomaly that extends through time -- and universes, if what you're saying is true.

If that's the case, information we can find here might be crucial in furthering science as we know it. Exciting stuff!
