Systems Alliance, come in. This is Lieutenant Commander Shepard of the SSV Normandy reporting.

The planet I've landed on is habitable. In fact, there are others here in the same position as me, though it appears all trace of the crew and ship are MIA. That -- probably means I'm the MIA one. I can only hope you're all still together, and in a beneficial situation. Planetary life here seems peaceful to some degree, but I'll stick to the book if it's necessary. I'm documenting plant life, animal genuses, and physical terrain, so you can expect some good reading whenever we meet up again.

Don't sweat. I'm fighting for Earth still, and I'll be back in the line of fire before you know it. Keep yourselves safe, be smart. Unite the alien races, you know the drill. Earth has its eyes on you, and humanity needs us.

I'm not too picky about music. This is where my crew would say I have no rhythm, anyway.
While I'm sure the Alliance would appreciate my stick figure drawings of the local animals, I think they'd be a bit miffed if they found out I was busy drawing pictures on some planet instead of actively looking for a more direct way to help them.

Once or twice. Planetary exploration has some strict protocol -- though, this is the first time humanity's seen a settled place since. Well, First Contact, probably.

You have a place in mind, I'm guessing?

If you can't consume empty calories every once in awhile, how will your body know that the rest of what you eat is healthy? [ This is the most airtight, flawless logic that ever was. ]

But yes, I do know a place. I'm assuming your original question was about alcoholic drinks, right?

From where I'm from, I have information that the world works in 50,000 year cycles, approximately. Your 2016 might be different from mine. There's no reason to think humanity hasn't been involved in these cycles, too.
