Summary: Mandy's Masquerade hosts a fantastic Halloween party with a costume contest, some very special cocktails, and a few other surprises.

Mandy's is looking a bit festive this evening. Arrayed with spiderwebs, pumpkins, and other ghoulish decorations, the interior resembles a spooky haunted house. Spooky, not scary! Everyone's invited to stop by and celebrate All Hallow's Eve with spirited drinks, excellent company, and a lot of that Magnus flair.

You can loosen up on the dance floor to Monster Mash, Thriller, Dead Man's Party, or maybe something from this list. The spooky sky's the limit! Visit the bar for one of several special drinks you won't soon forget. You can also sample some tasty and holiday-appropriate baked goods, courtesy of the other Mr. Lightwood-Bane. Finally, stop by the table with the MAGIC 8 BALL to learn a little more about your fellow partygoers.

Siren Song
If you're a little tone-deaf, don't fret. This drink will turn you into a master at serenading. It won't actually give you the ability to influence anyone via magical means, but maybe if your song choice is apt, you'll woo someone either way!

Firework!
A drink that comes with a portable fireworks show hovering over its surface. Drinking it will give you the sensation of ingesting liquid pop-rocks.

Blacklight
Does what it says on the tin and makes the drinker glow under a black light. It's also kind of sour.

Frankenstein's Monster
This drink is quite shocking. Not dangerously so, but when you drink it, you'll have the impression of getting a tingling little jolt of electricity down your spine. It's aliiiiive.

To Be or Not To Be (A Daemon)
Drink this and you will find you've been magically swapped with your daemon. It only lasts ten minutes, but hey! You'll get to see how the other half lives. A note: you won't inherit one another's abilities!

In first place for individual costumes...

Rafa wins for his devilish costume and he'll be awarded 2 potions: the first of which will up his luck stat, granting him good fortune in an endeavor (it says "Deal with the Devil" on the bottle) and the second will up his persuasion stat, helping him to be more successful in an argument (it says "The Devil's Advocate" on the bottle).

In second place for individual costumes...

Nico plunders the second place spot and will be given a treasure chest full of chocolates that are rum flavored. Careful, they pack a bit of a punch and when consumed, they'll make whoever eats them feel especially happy. No sad drunks here!

In third place for individual costumes...

Zeke and his amazingly sunny costume are in third and he wins a sunflower plant that will never cease to bloom and seems to have a bit of a glow about it. Plus, perpetual supply of sunflower seeds?

In first place for couples costumes...

Magnus and Alec came first for their portrayal of... each other... and they win a pair of seemingly mundane t-shirts that say "Bennet" and "Darcy" on them. What's that about?

In second place for couples costumes...

Vex and Kenzi delighted with their take on the Addams' family patriarch and matriarch and won second place. As a prize, Kenzi will be given a shampoo and conditioner set that seems pretty innocuous until you check out the writing on the bottles: 'Have YOU ever wanted hair like Cousin Itt? Are you ever in luck!' Just a small amount will make her locks lustrous and smooth. Vex will be given a very lifelike and animated hand in a box.

In third place for couples costumes...

Rose and Kaz were drop dead gorgeous in their mafia-inspired garb. As prizes, they will receive the following: for Rose, a pair of magical die that make music when thrown, and for Kaz, a set of playing cards that are intricately illustrated with astonishing art that seems to move. Watch out for the face cards, they get very opinionated about your playing. They both also receive a chip that can be relinquished to Magnus for a small magical favor.

In the old days, they made jack-o-lanterns from swedes. They are more solid, less disgusting, and last longer. I recommend a return to form, personally.

I mean, I guess. I never thought it was that bad.

Pumpkins in Japan are usually green so we used persimmons a lot? Just kind of stick or draw faces on them, boom. Mini jack-o-lanterns. They don't actually glow but they're cute.

You see? Now those would be far less offensive. Even pumpkins would be better if they did not open them.

[ Though, personally he's still not a fan. That's just a compromise. The western world is unlikely to accept. ]

[ Rose isn't convinced. They don't really smell that bad, but... ]

So are you telling me you're going to judge me for my enjoyment of pumpkin flavored drinks?

[ Rafa rolls his shoulders, before tipping his own glass to her. ]

[ She squints. It's a little skeptical. ]

I feel like is probably one of the lesser things I could be judged for, honestly, so I'll take it.

[ Meaning she'll raise his glass back to him and take a sip. Look, she's not entirely self-aware of what a hot mess and half and a half she is sometimes but- She's... at least not oblivious to it either. ]

[ Well, that makes Rafa lift his eyebrows. Rosie isn't also so self-deprecating. ]

I would not take it so lightly. It is surely a heinous crime.

[ He eyes the drink sniffily. Then he smiles at her. ]

You should not offer anything else up so easily. If there is anyone here who is not deserving of judgement, I will be surprised.

[ Not usually, but it's been a night. It's been a few weeks, actually, for Rose. She's maybe still recovering from the gigantic mess that she made. ]

That's fair enough. Just feels like I've been doing a lot of stupid shit lately, I guess. I've offended like three people here tonight alone!

Maybe I should be more proud than worried about it?

[ ... She's joking. ]

[ That makes Rafa laugh. He can at least hope that she's not serious. He moves beside her, though, and reaches to take her arm. ]

Who precisely have you offended? Vex does not count. [ Because he heard that little outburst. ] He likes to be a scoundrel. Nothing makes him happier.

I joked about snow apparition women who murder men being my goals in life, which. Did not go over well. [ Who would have thought? ]

I also called the person someone's in love with garbage because they don't love them back.

[ Rafa frowns at her. It does seem she’s been making her mark here. ]

The first of those I know to be a lie, given all you told me before. Why would you joke about that, Rose?

The second, I cannot help you with. For all I know, they are...garbage, as you say. But love makes us blind, so none of us would like to hear it.

Of course it's a lie! That's why it's funny, it's so unbelievable. Y'know?

[ Maybe it would've been more appreciated were it someone who knew her, probably. Like Rafa. Casually discussing murder with a stranger might not have been the best call but- She's had a few. Leave her alone. ]

I guess... I'd probably be upset if someone tried to insult Vanyel. Or Farraige. But I don't know, dude! It just seems like a shitty situation to be in. Why love someone that much if you know they don't love you back?

[ Of course Rose knows it isn't as easy as choosing to fall in or out of love. Eudio had taught her that much. She'd hardly felt like she had any say in it all, her feeling's for Vanyel, and maybe that's why she handled it so poorly then. Is... still hitting bumps in the road now. She's never done well with loss of control. ]

People tend not to choose who they fall in love with. Not when the feelings are real.

[ Rafa shrugs. By now he's well acquainted with Rosie's issues when it comes to love, and he's not sure she's ready to be okay with the idea that it's not something she can just decide on. ]

If they are your friend, apologise. I am sure they will understand.

[ Well. That gives her hope about her relationship with Vanyel, if nothing else. But she doesn't comment on that, instead focusing on the latter part of his statement. ]

That's the thing. He knows me, or- A different me, I guess, from somewhere else. But I don't know him.

[ For all the multiples she'd seen come through Eudio, Rose had never imagined that there would be other versions of her out there in the multiverse. It makes sense, but- This is the first time she's heard of one actually out there, that exists. That someone here knows. ]

[ Rafa lifts his eyebrows. ]

That complicates things.

[ He lifts one shoulder. ]

You cannot expect to be exactly like her. Dick Grayson here is not the same version as was in Eudio. Neither was Loki. I cannot expect them to be the same, it is impossible. If your friend is wise, he will know the same is true of you.

I know, [ she answers, without meaning to, at the mention of Dick Grayson. She knows already he's not the same man that she'd known in Eudio. Her heart hasn't caught up with her head yet, but- She's sure Rafa is experiencing that too.

It's probably better, if she just doesn't confuse things more than she already has there. ]

But alright. I'll, uh. I'll apologize. See where that goes and hopefully I didn't mess things up too bad.
